Yorubeat Music is an independent record label based in London, UK. We focus on the production and release of all Yorubeat music. 

The genesis of Yorubeat is the drum pattern, derived from the music of Western Africa. Combining talking drums, African percussion, waka, fuji, apala and juju, Yorubeat music also adds in western musical styles such as pop, jazz, funk, and classical, to create the unique drum pattern. The Yorubeat style was created and named by Nigerian saxophonist Tunday Akintan. 

Yorubeat drum rhythms are mostly offbeat and the strongest accent is on the last beat rather than the first, as it is in traditional western musical styles. Yorubeat is usually performed by a large group of musicians, placing heavy emphasis on syncopated horns with African-flavoured rhythms.
